The role of the teacher is to instruct students in ceramics knowledge. Currently our classes are focused on wheelthrowing for adults, however we are also interested in expanding into offering classes for younger artists, and also classes that are geared toward handbuilding, or combined handbuilding and wheelthrowing classes.

Ideal Candidates Will Be:

• Experienced in wheelthrowing, handbuilding, or both, with a documented body of work that can be shared during the interview process
• Interested in sharing their established knowledge of ceramics in a classroom setting
• Able to commit to their designated teaching time (one-night class or 8-week class)
• Interested in teaching brand-new beginners or experienced intermediates (we offer both types of classes)
• Punctual 
• Detail-oriented & care about doing things well/properly
• Able to adhere to all safety practices of the studio

We are seeking teachers for both our One Night classes and 8-Week classes. Shifts are available both during the weekday (9am-noon), or evening (7-9pm Fridays & Saturdays). Specific days of the week and time during the day may be flexible.

Pay Rate: $25 per hour

The role of the studio technician is to assist in the cleaning and organization of the studio, so that studio members, students, and teachers, are able to complete their work in a clean and organized environment. A technician does not necessarily have to be experienced in clay, but that experience is a bonus. On-the-job training will be provided.

Ideal Candidates Will Be:

• Interested in ceramics, or learning about ceramics
• Punctual 
• Detail-oriented & care about doing things well/properly
• Able to adhere to all safety practices of the studio

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Studio organization, such as moving shelving, boxes of clay, tools, etc
• Processing & recycling clay
• Wedging balls of clay for one night classes
• Processing pots from one night classes (trimming, glazing)
• Loading and unloading kilns
• Maintaining kiln furniture (cone packs, cookies, kiln shelves)
• Cleaning the studio including the bathroom, mopping the floors, and cleaning tools and equipment
• Watering indoor and outdoor plants
• Identifying when stock is running low & notifying owner/manager
• Answering studio questions during "open studio" hours, such as selling items to students and members, showing where to find tools, etc.
• Helping one-night students find their completed work when they arrive to pick it up

Please note that this role does require lifting or moving of up to 25-50 pound boxes of clay on a periodic basis.

Currently seeking to fill 10-15 hours per week.

Pay Range: $12-20 per hour based on experience
